    1.Jhola

    2. Soongava

    This is another Nepali movie with very unique story plot. Nepal has very conservative thinking about sex, gender, transgender, homosexual. This movie haD a lot of controversy. It is very different from the mainstream commercial movies point of view but it is very realistic and reflects today’s society of Nepal.
    3. Saanghuro

    A fantastic film directed by Joes pander ‘saanghuro’ involves the psycho-social conflict of characters that leads to unusual circumstances and raises unsolved questions. The story is built around members of a lower-middle-class family living in an urban slum. Poverty is the part of their lives, and the insecurity that comes with having to worry about whether their house might collapse is ever-present.

    A young woman has to make a difficult choice of whether or not to take care of her younger brother, even though her dignity is at risk by doing so. Her brother’s situation becomes so desperate that she feels she only has one option- to make a great self-sacrifice to save her family. A nepali movie directed by Naresh Kumar reflects the life of Nepalese in mountain.

    Kagbeni is one of the most popular movie in Nepali movie industry which took the direction of movie industries to new height. The movie was released in 2008. It is a movie loosely based on W. W. Jacobs’s 1902 horror short story The Monkey’s Paw.
    6. White Sun

    White Sun is 2016 drama war biographical film directed by Deepak Rauniyar. It is a historical movie based on Nepalese civil war ‘s conflict between royalists and maoist and how the civil citzen suffered during the process.
    7. Kalo Pothi

    The Black Hen (Nepali: Kalo Pothi) is a 2015 Nepali drama film directed by Min Bahadur Bham. The story takes place in Mugu, a district in north-west Nepal in 2001 during the Nepalese civil war (1996–2006). It is the first Nepali film to be screened at the Venice Film Festival. It was selected as the Nepalese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards.
    8. Talakjung vs Tulke

    This is a 2014 Nepalese drama film directed by Nischal Basnet. It was selected as the Nepalese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards. This movie has made a lot of Nepalese cry their heart out.
    9. Maitighar

    Maitighar is a classic 1966 Nepali film directed by B.S. Thapa. It was the third Nepali film produced and the first under a private banner. This movie being released in 19’s has been able to hold special place in heart of people.
    10. Aama

    Aama is the first Nepali movie produced in Nepal, starring Shiva Shankar Manandhar and Bhuvan Chand (Thapa) as the leading actors. The movie was produced by the Information Department of the Nepalese Government and released on October 7, 1964.
