    1. KFC

To say KFC Nepal started out with a bang would be an understatement! Back when it launched in 2009, people lined up in queues spanning several meters just to get into the restaurant; and it has been growing strong ever since. Since its inception, it has opened 7 outlets and most of them are super packed on an average day. While there were some hiccups regarding labour issues in between, KFC was able to shake it off and operate as normal.

    2. Pizza Hut

Launching at the same time as KFC, Pizza Hut has also seen massive success. The types of pizzas offered by Pizza Hut were (and are) pretty unique and thus it was able to instantly capture the hearts of Nepali people. Their stuffed crust pizzas especially, are to die for. The service is always wonderful and the ambience is excellent. Overall, Pizza Hut is most people’s first choice when we’re craving cheesy pizzas.

    3. Bota Mo:Mo

Established in 2015, Bota Mo:Mo was an instant hit. Their promotion happened mostly through word of mouth thanks to the wide variety of momos and hygienic outlets, and soon enough, the tables at Bota were filled with groups of families and friends. They began rapidly expanding since then and now have 10 outlets in total. Bota decreased in popularity and gained some negative reviews in the past, however, they’re still growing and expanding so it’s safe to assume that the business is going well.

I’m sure not many of us were able to guess how successful KKFC would be when it was first launched. There are no shortages of KFC knockoffs in Nepal, however, none of them has been able to attain the level of success that KKFC has, let alone establish its own franchise. They’ve managed to create an identity and a consumer base for themselves, which is pretty impressive.
